Simply put, a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle is a used vehicle that's been inspected and reconditioned but still covered with a limited warranty and purchased from a dealership. Buying certified pre-owned vehicles can be less risky than buying non-certified or privately sold used vehicles, which may not have undergone any stringent certification process.
Two Types of Nissan Certification
Nissan now offers two ways to buy a pre-owned Nissan with confidence. Both Nissan Certified and Certified Select come with a CARFAX® Vehicle History Report™, a guaranteed trade in and 24/7 roadside assistance for the duration of its respective warranty.[1,2]

Each one goes through a rigorous certification process and offers peace of mind through a limited powertrain warranty and roadside assistance.[1,5]
Nissan Pre-Owned Limited Warranties
The Nissan Certified 7-Year/100,000 Mile Limited Warranty [1] lasts 7 years from the original new car in-service date of the vehicle or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, and covers over 600 components including engine, transmission and drive train.
Nissan's latest type of inspected and approved vehicles, Certified Select come equipped with a 6-month/6,000 Mile Limited Warranty, which ever comes first.[2]
Engine
Cylinder heads and block and all internally lubricated parts, rocker covers and oil pan, valve train and front cover, timing chain and tensioner, oil pump and fuel pump, fuel injectors, intake and exhaust manifolds and turbocharger, flywheel, seals and gaskets.
Transmission and Transfer Case
Transmission and Transfer Case: Case and all internally lubricated parts, torque converter and converter housing, automatic transmission control module, transfer case and all internal parts, seals and gaskets, and electronic transmission controls.
Replacement Parts
Replacement of any part will be made with a new or remanufactured replacement part manufactured by or for Nissan for use on Nissan vehicles. If a part is not available from Nissan, Nissan may authorize an outside sourced part of like and kind and quality to be used in the repair.
Drivetrain
Drive shafts, final drive housing and all internally lubricated parts, propeller shafts, universal joints, bearings, seals and gaskets.
Deductible
Repairs covered under this Warranty are subject to a deductible of $100 per visit, execpt where prohibited by law.
Nissan Certified and Certified Select Inspections
All Nissan Certified vehicles must pass a 167-point comprehensive inspection. This inspection must be completed by a Nissan-trained technician. A CARFAX® Vehicle History Report™ is provided along with a complete Nissan service history review. All reconditioning must be done with Nissan-approved parts. Only upon completion of this rigorous inspection process can it be labeled a Nissan Certified Pre-Owned vehicle.
Certified Select cars, which allow for increased inventory with a wider range of models, years and mileage pass an 84-point inspection conducted by the same Nissan-trained technicians.

Roadside Assistance

Complimentary Maintenance Plan
All Nissan Certified vehicles come with a one-year complimentary Basic PMA. Certified Select vehicles include 1 prepaid service visit within the first year of ownership.[6]

Towing Assistance [4,5] : Up to $100 towing assistance. If necessary, we’ll even tow your car to the nearest Nissan dealer within 250 miles
Car Rental Reimbursement: Up to 5 days car rental reimbursement at a maximum of $42 per day for the mechanical breakdown of covered components
Trip Interruption Coverage: If a mechanical breakdown of a covered part takes place when you are more than 100 miles from home, you’ll be covered for up to $500 for meals, lodging and alternative transportation
SiriusXM Complimentary Trial [7] : All Nissan Certified Pre-Owned vehicles equipped with satellite radio will receive a complimentary 3-month trial of SiriusXM. Hear over 140 channels of music, talk and sports while you enjoy your new ride
Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty – Ownership Transferability [1] : The Nissan Certified Pre-Owned Limited Warranty is transferable from the retail customer to one subsequent private owner (private party to private party) for the duration of the warranty period.

Yes. The Nissan Security+Plus Extended Protection Plan [6] covers more than 1,500 components and is available on Nissan Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles. Combined with the over 600 components already covered by the Certified Limited Warranty and you benefit from over 2,100 covered components.
Additional Components: Security+Plus Extended Protection Plan [6] includes: electrical, audio/video/navigation, suspension, steering, climate control system and brakes.
Terms: Three available options are 7 year/100,000 miles (whichever occurs first), 7 year/unlimited miles, or 8 year/120,000 miles (whichever occurs first).
Deductible: $0 deductible for any covered repair under the Security+Plus Extended Protection Plan. [6]

6 - Nissan Security+Plus Basic Prepaid Maintenance Agreement (PMA) includes up to two oil and filter replacements and two tire rotations. This PMA covers up to 12 months or 10,000 miles (whichever comes first). Replacements will be made with Genuine Nissan or Nissan-approved parts in use at the time of the repair.
